This strategy is really simple. And it’ll get you droves of leads, local media exposure, and set up valuable partnerships for the future.
You’ll need some plastic gift cards, as below. They’re usually about £0.50-0.75 a piece.
Schools will have access to your average mum or dad market (if you’re targeting athletes or a more specialized niche then seek out institutions where they gather and use this method there).
These organizations and schools are always wanting to raise money, and your company’s vision & movement should be aligned with helping them. So this is a win/ win scenario.
Go into the school and tell them your company would like to make a donation of £2500-worth of health & fitness services.
(£2500 = 100 x £25 cards)
Once you’re in a meeting with the decision-maker, tell give them ideas for how they can use the cards to raise funds for the school.
Ask them to send a letter or email out to all the parents with the £25 gift on behalf of the school.
They can either give the cards out to parents for free, as a gift.
OR, tell them they can charge a fee (whatever they want) for the card – and 100% of the proceeds will go towards funds for the school.
Kids can go door-to-door selling cards in exchange for fundraiser money.
Parents can tell their friends, family, colleagues about them too.
BOOSTER STRATEGY:
While you’re at the meeting, here’s a way to boost it further…
Once you’ve got a positive ‘yes’ response for the first idea, then offer to hold a nutrition / well ness talk for the parents of the school. You’ll use their hall, and charge only £5 per parent – all proceeds going towards the school again.
FINALLY,
Once all this in place go straight to the local media (or ask the school for their preferred media contact) and tell them about the fundraiser strategies your company is doing for the school and the good of the community. Brilliant story for the journalists.
Out of all this, you get multiplied distribution,
Media exposure,
Relationship with the school,
And hopefully an army of kids and mums selling the heck out of your gift cards around town.
That’s the power generated with these little plastic money-makers!
Get to it!
